Formic acid,commonly known as formic acid,is the simplest organic carboxylic acid. Compared with other organic acids, its molecules contain both carboxyl and aldehyde groups.Therefore, formic acid has the properties of both acid and aldehyde. As an important chemical raw material, formic acid is widely used in rubber, leather making, medicine, pesticide, dye, fuel cell, catalytic hydrogen production, agriculture, environmental protection (the main raw material of green snow melting agent) and other industries.In recent years, the domestic demand for formic acid has been growing at a rate of more than 10%.As a basic organic chemical raw material, formic acid is the simplest fatty acid, which is widely used in pesticide, leather, dye, medicine, rubber and other industries.In organic synthesis, it can be used to synthesize medicines, pesticides, dyes, auxiliaries and other organic intermediates; As a substitute of inorganic synthetic acid in leather industry, it is used for de ashing and hair removal of boot leather to prevent mildew of wet leather; Used for acid rinsing in textile printing and dyeing industry; Formic acid can also be used for the preservation of green fodder and grain, and has the function of obviously inhibiting or preventing the growth of mold; Formic acid can also be used as acid setting agent of latex and accelerator of cement.  

1.Pharmaceutical industry: caffeine, analgin, aminopyrine, aminophylline, theobromine borneol, vitamin B1, metronidazole, mebendazole;

2.Pesticide industry: triadimefon, triadimefon, tricyclazole, triazole, triazophos, paclobutrazol, uniconazole, insecticide, dicofol, guanine, etc; 

3.Chemical industry: calcium formate, sodium formate, ammonium formate, potassium formate, ethyl formate, barium formate, dimethylformamide, formamide, rubber antioxidant, pentaerythritol, neopentyl glycol, epoxy soybean oil, octyl epoxide soybean oleate, tervaleryl chloride, paint remover, phenolic resin, pickling steel plate, etc;

2.Poisoning treatment principle 

1.Inhalation poisoning, oxygen inhalation,2%~4% sodium bicarbonate solution can be given for atomization inhalation to prevent chemical pneumonia.

2.Eye damage can be washed with normal saline or 2% sodium bicarbonate solution.If there is no such solution on site, wash it with plenty of clean water. Adrenal glucocorticoid and antibiotic eyedrops can be used alternatively for severe patients.If necessary, please ask the ophthalmologist for treatment.

3.After skin contact, rinse with water, normal saline or 4% sodium bicarbonate solution.

4.Those who take it by mistake induce vomiting, gastric lavage and catharsis.Clear water or 2.5% magnesium oxide solution can be used for gastric lavage, but sodium bicarbonate solution cannot be used to avoid the possibility of gastric perforation caused by carbon dioxide.Mucosa protectants such as milk, soybean milk and egg white can be taken orally.
